Hello and welcome to From Scratch Baking!

I’m Cathy and I’ve always loved to bake. I am professionally trained in pastry arts and wanted to share what I’ve learned with others. I hope that my passion for baking shows through and inspires you to try a recipe or two.

When nut allergies arose in our family, my passion turned into a “necessity,” as finding a nut-free bakery is no easy task. While I wanted to bake treats for my family, I also wanted to bake for others who couldn’t go to a traditional bakery. From there, From Scratch Baking was created. 

Since I deal with food allergies on a daily basis, I try to keep a nut-free focus on my blog and whenever I bake, I always bake peanut and tree-nut free. Feel free to substitute any ingredients in the recipes that suit your preferences.
