Remove the puff pastry from the refrigerator. Unroll onto a cutting board. You can use the parchment paper that came in the packaging to line your cookie sheet.
Use a sharp knife and cut the dough into 6 square pieces.
Take about 1-2 tablespoon of apple filling and place in the center of the square.
Take one corner and fold over to the opposite corner. Using a fork, press down to seal the ends. Poke a couple of holes on the top to vent the apples.
Continue until all squares are filled and sealed.
Make an egg wash* using one egg and 1 tablespoon of water. Brush on the tops of the turnovers.
Sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon on top of the egg wash for a little extra color, crispness and flavor.
Bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
*To make an egg wash, beat one egg with 1 tbsp water. Take a pastry brush and brush egg wash on top of turnovers.
