Who’s given into the hype and tried this, this whipped coffee craze? I admit it, I did. I tried this.
While I feel like I completely lost track of April and have nothing to show for it (other than some organized cabinets), the one thing I did was to give in to my curiosity and try the whipped coffee drink that I’ve seen many people posting all over social media. Have you tried it yet? If you haven’t, then I suggest you try it when you need a spark of energy!
Whipped Coffee
All I can say about the whipped coffee ⎯ WOW! Talk about a caffeine buzz ALL. DAY. LONG! Who knew whipping up instant coffee could bring out the caffeine to keep you going! I can see why there has been such a whipped coffee craze. While the “bump” in my energy level was great for the day, it wasn’t so great at night when I needed to get some sleep!
Overall, this was quite easy to make. I’ve seen some recipes that use coffee creamer to bring in flavor and more creaminess to the drink. However, to keep this drink allergy friendly for my daughter who was more than eager to try this creation, I omitted the creamer. While I don’t use a nut-flavored creamer, I’m sure the creamer is done on the same line so we opted to keep it out.
Whip, Whip and Whip Some More
If you whip this drink up by hand, grab a whisk and be prepared to whip, whip and whip some more. I didn’t have that kind of energy in me (yet!), so I used my machine to whip the coffee, sugar and water until it reached the consistency I wanted. If you whip this creation up by hand, keep going until it’s fairly thick.
Once your coffee is whipped, just put it all together and drink up! Add ice, milk, a splash of vanilla for flavor and about a teaspoon of sugar (or more if needed). I added the extra sugar since I omitted the coffee creamer. If you choose to use coffee creamer, you shouldn’t need additional sugar. Top with your whipped coffee and enjoy your creation!

Does Puppy Chow Count as Baking?
The positive side of me had high hopes for this month ⎯ I was going to blog more (oops, that didn’t happen) and I was going to try my hand at some new desserts. That didn’t happen either. And I know that is ok. I’m already snacking more than I should be, so why tempt things with more baked goods that someone (a.k.a. ME) will eat when nobody is watching.
One thing I’ve done on what feels like a daily basis is make puppy chow for my daughter and I to snack on. So, in an effort to try something new, my daughter and I gave the whipped coffee recipe a try. We also tried making a milkshake without ice cream (check out the bonus recipe below).
Bonus Recipe ⎯ Whipped Milkshake

Whipped Milkshake
