Sun Butter Dog Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup sun butter
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Grease (or line with parchment paper & spray) one 6 or 8” cake pan. Set aside.
  • Combine the flour and baking soda in a large bowl.
  • In a medium bowl, combine all other ingredients (oil, sun butter, applesauce, pumpkin and egg). Mix together and until smooth.
  • Pour wet ingredients into the center of the bowl with dry ingredients and combine.
  • Pour batter into a greased cake pan. 
  • Bake for about 20-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. 
  • Cool for about 10 minutes before removing from the pan. Place onto a cake board to cool completely. Frost if desired. 

Notes

If cake is frosted, store cake in the refrigerator.
