Ingredients

SunButter Dog Cake

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seed butter
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seed butter

Instructions

SunButter Dog Cake

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉ degrees. Grease one 8” cake pan or line with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour and baking soda together. Make a well in the center.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Mix together until the consistency is smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the center of the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake at 350℉ for about 20-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before removing. Once removed, place the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely. Frost if desired.

SunButter Dog Frosting

  • In a small bowl, mix the yogurt and sunflower seed butter until well combined.
  • Spread over the completely cooled cake. Decorate as desired.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.

Notes

*Be sure to use pure pumpkin and NOT pumpkin pie mix.
If cake is frosted, store cake in the refrigerator.
