Easy Holiday Candy for the 4th of July

Jump to Recipe

Looking for an easy holiday treat that does not require the use of an oven? Then check out this easy recipe for holiday candy that you can share at your Fourth of July celebrations. What’s great about this recipe is that you can pretty much use any type of add-in you’d like to tailor the candy to your tastes.

Color is Key

I like making colorful candy so that it looks pretty and tastes as good as it looks. The Fourth of July holiday provides us with a nice color palette that makes your candy look festive. Vanilla candy coating (also known as almond bark), red craisins, dried blueberries…just to name a few…help create that red white and blue color scheme.

Ingredient Line-Up

Colorful Dried Fruit – add color with dried fruit such as cranberries, blueberries or even raisins.
Holiday Sprinkles
– sprinkles add in a fun element to your candy along with pops of color.
Marshmallows
– either white or colored mini marshmallows.
Vanilla Candy Coating
– vanilla candy coating, or vanilla (white) almond bark, works best in highlighting the holiday color scheme, but milk chocolate can be used, if desired.

Tools Needed

Cookie Sheet – lining a cookie sheet with either parchment paper or a silicone baking mat makes it easier to remove the candy once cooled as well as allowing for an easier clean-up.

Microwavable Bowls – use a small bowl to mix the ingredients you’ll add to the candy; use a medium-sized bowl to melt the candy coating.

Heat-Resistant Spatula – used for stirring the candy coating.

Offset Spatula – used for smoothing out the candy coating.

Cute Boxes (optional) – if bringing to a party you can package your candy into cute boxes for gifting.
