Oat and Sun Butter Puppy Bites

Jump to Recipe

Hello my furry friends, Gracie here…woof! How’s summer treating you? I can’t complain. My family doesn’t have to go to that place they call “school” so they are home every day with me and I love it! We go for long walks; play and I can snuggle up with the kids all day long. And, the best part…I get spoiled, big time. Lots of snacks come my way, from popcorn to pup treats made just for me, like these Oat and Sun Butter Puppy Bites! Woof-woof!

Simple to Make, Tasty to Eat!

When it comes to treats, I am the first to admit that I’m not super picky. The joke around our house is that mom will give me morning popcorn, mid-morning popcorn, afternoon popcorn…well, you get the idea. I’m spoiled.

She does like to make treats that are just for me, so long as they are simple to make. And these Oat and Sun Butter Puppy Bites are just that – simple to make! She says it’s better for us pups to eat treats made with fewer ingredients. And I’m ok with that. Simple is better and it’s certainly tasty.

Small Treats vs Larger Treats

I am a tiny pup, weighing in at about 8 pounds. So this recipe is geared towards me being a small pup. While I may be spoiled, even I know that special treats such as these should be eaten in moderation. If, my furry friend, you are a larger pup, then have your human double this recipe so that it can be shaped into a larger circle for a larger treat. Unless your human intends these treats to be a reward for training. Then leave the treat size small.

*While you can toast the oatmeal for more flavor, it’s ok to skip this step.

Is it too hot for your human to bake for you? Then try this Banana Sun-Butter “Pups” Cream recipe. It’s so yummy! Enjoy the rest of your summer my furry friends! Woof!
